Other Faves from NYFW:
Delpozo - The spanish fashion house brought the magic to NYC again this season. He really brings us something fresh every season. The silhouettes are fresh and they are extremely luxurious but somehow wearable (this ain’t no ball gown) for the right woman. It is feminine, whimsical and exquisitely made. Love love love.
Fur - I have been seeing more and more fur on the streets these days and especially at fashion week with the arctic temps it was everywhere. I liked this fur accent on a cool 90’s suit from Jenni Kayne. It was surprising coming from a LA designer but a nice touch to vamp up a very modern suit.
Nipples - So everyone was talking about the flood of bare chests on the runways this season. Looks great in this setting but could be potentially awkward in pubic.
Straps and swim shapes - I really liked the incorporation of swimwear or lingerie style bodices into cocktail dresses as well as strappy leather accents.
NYFW FW2014: Head-to-toe prints
I am really excited that this is going to be socially acceptable come fall. Hell I am going to get a head start and wear this for spring. For a person who loves a good print, what is more fun then wearing it head to toe. I especially love the adventurous print pairings showed by Proenza Schouler and Calla.
Mandalynn Swim 2014
Mandalynn is a newcomer to the swimwear biz. She studied at Parons’s and created the line because she was unsatisfied with the options on the market. The line is already being sold at major online retailers including Urban Outfitters, Tobi, Swell, Nasty Gal, Threadsense and ModCloth. We love what she is bringing for 2014.

Day 4 Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week Miami
Indah, Beach Riot, Anna Kosturova and Lolli Swim showed together on the final day of Miami Swim Fashion Week. Above are a few of my faves.
DAY 3 - Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week Miami
LSpace and Luli Fama are solid designers that always send a lot of looks down the runway. What stood out in these robust collections were a few new strappy styles from Lspace like black one piece with multicolor side straps and the new top style with a v-strap design. Luli Fama also showed a few new strappy looks including one with a lace-up bodice paired with a multi-strap bottom. Lspace satisfied our fringe fix with the dolly top in new prints and a new fringe bottom style. Luli Fama, on the other hand, provided a new option for fringe lovers: tassles. The tassles showed up on tops and bottoms. It will be interesting to see the the feedback on this new direction.
Day 2 Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week Miami
On day 2 swimwear mega-brands Mara Hoffman and Cia Maritima showed at swim fashion week. I would have never thought that these two labels would present something that would look so similar. Mara’s collection reflected her signature style: graphic tribal prints in bright bold shades. And Cia Maritima appeared to have tried it’s hand with her aesthetic. I would have never expected this from the brand but the result was beautiful!
DAY 1 Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week Miami
A few looks from Aussie designer Suboo, Columbian design team Agua Bendita and the Brazilian line Poko Pano.
Way out West
I recently spent some time in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. My grandma is from a small town nearby called Hayden (which explains my fascination with cowboy cuIture). On my visit, I drove out to a wild horse reserve with a cousin who, with his wife, is working to save the last remaining wild horse populations in this part of Colorado. The vistas and colors were spectacular.
